Founded in 2017 by Karen Boers, Rodolphe Verhaegen, and Laurent Hublet, BeCode is a nongovernmental organization created with the goal of resolving two problems affecting Belgian cities: a strong demand for digital skills and a very high unemployment rate. Simplon joined Orange, Telenet, Digital Belgium, Close the gap, and Degroof Petercam Foundation as partners of BeCode.
BeCode organizes trainings in web development; free and adapted to the needs of the local job market. It’s an intensive 7-month training including a 1-month internship. The target audience is primarily underrepresented people in the digital field: people with lower-level diplomas, young people, women, etc. BeCode is in Brussels and Charleroi.
Registrations are open for future trainings.
– Applications: until August 15th 2018 for the Charleroi factory
